With the challenges of the current economic climate, local small businesses will be given the opportunity to learn more about how to maximise profit in their business when they attend an upcoming seminar at the Greater Shepparton Business Centre.
The Profit in Your Business training seminar will show participants how to calculate profit margins, mark up and a break even analysis from the financial information of their business.Greater Shepparton City Council's Acting Small Business Development Officer Jo Rathjen said businesses owners will learn the impact that discounting has on their profit and how to manage business expenses efficiently.
"Financial statements will be explained and a simple ratio analysis will be taught to enable participants to benchmark their business," Ms Rathjen said.
"We have engaged Jan Barned as guest presenter and her book Financial Survival Guide for Small Business has already helped many small businesses.
"As an experienced national presenter, Jan will provide insight into the importance of all aspects of financial management in a lively and interactive manner, ensuring the learning experience of all participants is informative and enjoyable."
All attendees at the Profit in Your Business seminar will receive a free copy of the Financial Survival Guide - over 100 pages of information for improved financial management practices in your business.
The seminar will be held Wednesday 16 September at the Greater Shepparton Business Centre, 70 New Dookie Road Shepparton. Bookings are essential and can be made by contacting the centre on 5832 1100.
