Small Business Commissioner Visits Shepparton

The Small Business Commissioner Mark Brennan will be visiting the Greater Shepparton Business Centre tomorrow, Friday 14 October between 11.00am and 12.00pm to meet with tenants and discuss any issues or comments concerning small business operators in Shepparton.

Established by the Victorian Government in 2003, the Office of Small Business Commissioner aims to promote a competitive and fair operating environment for small business.

“Shepparton has a large network of small business and it is imperative that business is kept competitive and fair in an environment that allows their business to grow,” said Matt Nelson, Manager of Economic Development.

“Mark Brennan’s visit will give small business in this region a voice and encourage and nurture their business into the future.”

The Greater Shepparton Business Centre, in conjunction with the Victorian Government StreetLife program, has also established a Home Based Business Network that provides approximately 530 businesses with a quarterly newsletter, offering advice and tips on running a business from home.

Located in New Dookie Road, the Greater Shepparton Business Centre promotes the growth of small business in the region by providing support with office accommodation, industrial space, business support, meeting facilities, phone/fax and training services.
“By providing office, industrial space and management support at competitive rates we enable businesses to minimize start up costs, creating an impetus for growth,” Mr Nelson said.

“The environment is professional and allows the tenant's business to be part of a wider community thus gaining support from like-minded enterprises.”
