Rochelle Vick Wins Prestigious Award
Rochelle Vick, Coordinator of the Greater Shepparton Business Centre, has taken out the award for ‘Leadership in Economic Development – Local Government Practitioner, Employee’ at the inaugural National Awards for Economic Development Excellence held in Melbourne recently.
The award recognised Ms Vick’s involvement in centre and in particular the establishment and ongoing management of the Greater Shepparton Business at Home Network.
Ms Vick says there was strong competition in her category and that the result was a very welcome surprise.
“I was up against the Manager of Economic Development from the City of Wanneroo in Western Australia,” says Ms Vick.
“He and his team have completed some outstanding work in promoting that area and developing business opportunities,” she says.
Ms Vick says that the award is great recognition of the work that has been done at the centre and on the network.
“We have worked really hard at the centre to get the network up and running and have developed an exciting program of seminars and workshops on business issues and legalities,” says Ms Vick.
“We also provide business development and networking opportunities for businesses that are based at the centre and those that are based at home,” she adds.
